How Army I am (Pt.3) | My Bora-Hearteu is Beating Again 💜
Assalamualaikum wbt, anyeonghaseyo yerubun!
The last time I wrote about my global sweethearts was five years ago. Wow, right? I had wanted to write more about how much of an ARMY I’ve been year after year. But let me tell you, even though I didn’t write about it, I’m still a proud BTS ARMY. My heart still beats purple, okay! 💜 ><
It’s BTS’ 12th FESTA equal to my Bangtan turns 12, you guys! And this is my 6th FESTA.
FESTA: A celebration of BTS’ anniversary since their debut on June 13, 2013. So mark it 130613 was the birth of the legendary BTS!
So basically, this year (2025) marks 12 years of BTS standing strong in the K-pop industry. *Clap! Clap! Clap!
I started stanning BTS in 2019, during the Map of the Soul: Persona era. Boy With Luv ft. Halsey was where it all began. I loved Halsey first and didn’t really know BTS. But for Halsey, I listened to BWL and that was the moment I knew... I had fallen for BTS.
Oh wait, let’s be honest and throw it back a bit harder to when I was first exposed to BTS. It actually started in 2018, when I pretended to like BTS just because my students were crazy about them. I thought, “If I act like I love BTS, maybe they’ll love me more and it’ll be easier to capture their hearts and get them to love my class too.”
I remember one of my students asked, “Who’s your bias in BTS?” And I had absolutely no idea who any of the members were, not a single name I could mention! So how was I supposed to answer that? I didn’t even know them yet! Haha! So I played it safe and said, “I love them all, no bias. I support and love them all.” Bijak kan? Hahaha #SorryMyStudents your teacher lied :’)
I even received so many BTS photos and postcards as presents before I moved out from that school and I swear, I still keep them all. There was this one time, I asked my cousin, “Who’s this in the photo my student gave me?” It was Jungkook but I had no clue who he was. My cousin said, “That’s Jungkook, the maknae.” I was like, “What’s maknae?” So I Googled it turns out maknae is the Korean term for the youngest in the group. Okay then arasso~
In 2019, I truly started to love BTS and fell even harder for them. From Boy With Luv ft. Halsey, I went on to listen to their other songs, recognize their faces, learn their names, watch their MVs, dance practices, award show performances, interviews, and literally everything about BTS then I came to deeply appreciate their vocals, their talents, and the meaning behind their lyrics and music.
Believe me when I say: I fell in love with BTS because of their raw talent and the depth of their lyrics. Their appearance? That came later, truly. 💜
My love for BTS has grown day by day ever since. I get excited for every comeback, every new song release, new content on YouTube, new episodes of Run BTS, and every award they win. Basically, I get excited over everything!
If you ask me who my bias is, without hesitation, I’ll say: I have none. Because I’m the One True 7 (OT7) fan. I love BTS as a group of seven. Call me cliché, but that’s genuinely how I’ve felt for the longest time.
To be honest, when BTS announced they’d be taking a break as a group to focus on their solo projects, I almost couldn’t accept it. “It won’t be BTS if they’re not seven on the same stage or screen!” my heart rebelled.
Them having solo projects honestly felt like they were parting ways for good. Just thinking about it makes me sad again even though they’re not really parting pun ish! I’m just the one who tends to overthink things :’)
Sorry, Bangtan.
I had a bittersweet two year break from rooting for you all as passionately as I used to. I’ve toned down my ARMY-ness during that time, honestly. But still, I loved all of your solo songs and watched all the related contents just maybe not as quickly as I did before. Still, I love each and every one of the BTS members and their masterpieces!.
Not to forget during those two years (from the end of 2022 to 2025), they released so many solo songs and amazing contents. And then came the mandatory military service. They are all worked really really hard. As of June 11th 2025, six of them have completed everything. Now, we just have to wait for Suga to finish his service on June 21st 2025 and then, finally, BTS will reunite as seven!. I’m so happy just thinking about it. 💜

BTS took so long that I’ve finished my Master’s degree, gone through two terrible breakups (yes, two!), and too bad both happened while BTS was super busy with their solo projects and military enlistments. So yeah, kita susah nak move on wak, because my global sensational boyfriends were all busy chasing their individual careers! * crying in borahae * Gagagaga!
But I’m totally fine now, healed, and still single. At this point, I’m convinced I’m destined to marry one of them, hahah! *laugh in Borahae.

Stanning BTS for years accidentally dragged my sister into loving them too. She’s a big fan now, even more ARMY than I am! HAHAHA Now there are two ARMYs in the family. Awas!
So in 2025, I’m officially back in my fangirling era after a two years break. Why am I like this? Haha. I used to think that the older I got, the less interested I’d be in the K-pop world. But I was wrong! Turns out, the older I get, the more money I can spare for my K-pop things like buying official merch, albums, and finally wanting to attend a BTS concert at least once in my lifetime.
At this point, I’m actually really grateful to still be single. I’m genuinely happy with my life, Alhamdulillah 💜
What Treasure has made me do 💛
Unlike with BTS, I actually have a personal favorite (a.k.a. bias) in Treasure, Asahi, for real! And my bias wreckers would be Park Jeongwoo and Haruto. I love all of the Treasure members, they’re incredibly talented and super cute. And yes… they’re so much younger than me. I’m a "noona" to them haha!

Happy 12th Anniversary, BTS. BORAHAE! 💜
